Subsea technology and services specialist Triton Group will today (May 4, 2010) announce that it is harnessing the expertise of its rental businesses under a new umbrella organization, as it prepares for major growth across existing and future oil and gas markets.
DPS Offshore will encompass Group companies DPS, DPS-Asia, ETS, Subco and Perry Slingsby Tooling Rental as Triton continues its drive to exceed the increasing international demand for its state-of-the-art technology and services.
The move follows more than $15 million (USD) of investment to enhance the rental fleet, including the creation of an in-house calibration facility at DPS in Aberdeen and the expansion of its global inventory with new technologies such as Taut Wire systems and the Geonav product range.
DPS Offshore brings each company's expertise under one roof, providing a single source from which customers can access some of the world's leading subsea services and equipment.
It will be led by vice president Mick Jones, with Scott Johnstone taking up the role of business development director. General managers at each of the Triton facilities in Aberdeen, Lowestoft, Houston and Singapore will remain responsible for the day to day running of the respective DPS Offshore businesses.
"The rental and services division is a key growth driver for Triton so bringing all our rental provision under one roof provides us with a platform to significantly grow the business and achieve our aim of becoming the number one global provider of subsea and surface tools for rental," said Mr Jones.
"We have an established network in the UK, USA and Asia and are now looking at expanding into other oil and gas markets going forward, with a particular focus on the South American, and African markets."
DPS Offshore will be officially launched at a reception for Triton customers in Houston this evening.
