MMT has during the past 4 years worked within the "Routine resurvey" contract for the Maritime & Coastguard Agency. The contract is a part of the Civil Hydrography Programme for systematically surveying U.K waters. The work includes seabed mapping in areas with mobile seabed to monitor depth changes, due to for example sand movement.
MMTs contract has now been extended three more years and now includes survey activities until April 2012.
Under the Civil Hydrography Programme, commercial contracts are let regularly to ensure accurate hydrographic information is gathered for updating the nation's nautical charts and publications. The Maritime and Coastguard Agency work in close cooperation with the United Kingdom Hydrographic Office.
MMT is very pleased to have been awarded the extension and look forward to continue the work in challenging and shallow waters around the United Kingdom. The vessel Ping, 7 meters is currently working in Shetland and the vessel SeaBeam, 16 meters, is planned to be mobilised for survey activities in May.
