A Lafayette, LA pioneer in survey technology for the oil patch, has been named as a "Top 100 Military Friendly Employer for 2010." The Fugro companies - Lafayette, representing the 2300 employees of Fugro nationwide recently accepted the award.
GI Jobs, a military to civilian transition publication and website catering to military job seekers with a monthly circulation of 80,000, selected Fugro for its seventh annual list, drawing from 5,000 U.S. companies (those with over $500 million annual revenues). The selection was based on the strength of the company's military recruiting efforts, the percentage of new hires with prior military service, and company policies toward national guard and reserve service. Ranked at number 56, Fugro Inc. has been recognized for its military recruitment practices.
As a global leader, Fugro offers advanced geotechnical surveying, seismic, oceanographic, and positioning services. In receiving the award on U.S. Veterans' Day, Phil Stutes, President of Fugro Chance in Lafayette commented that Fugro prizes prior military service.
