Sonardyne lightweight release transponders prove popularInternational oceanographic marine instrument and systems provider, OSIL (Ocean Scientific International Limited), are pleased to have secured an order for a number of Sonardyne's Lightweight Release Transponders, a durable and cost effective substitute to surface marking.

Sonardyne's Lightweight Release Transponders are depth rated to 500m, and can be deployed for up to 18 months, or extended to 4 years through the use of a lithium battery pack. The releases feature a positive screw release mechanism making them an ideal choice for use worldwide in high fouling environments. Users can rely on the LRT for the efficient retrieval of moored underwater equipment and have a proven track record in a wide variety of oceanographic applications in both coastal and offshore environments.

OSIL are pleased to be able to supply their client with five Sonardyne Lightweight Release Transponder's for use in an offshore MetOcean study.

The LRT's are to be used in conjunction with OSIL's Seabed Mounting Frames fitted with a range of SonTek ADCP's. The seabed frames will be installed offshore and the LRT's enable the client to retrieve the instruments/ frames from the seabed without the need for surface marking in a busy shipping environment.
