JAMSTEC releases new deep sea image databaseJapan Agency for Marine-Earth Science and Technology (JAMSTEC) has launched a new database for deep sea still images which were obtained by JAMSTEC's deep sea research vehicles.

On this database JAMSTEC publicizes images whose moratorium periods have expired. Although images on this web are in low resolution JPEG format, JAMSTEC also has high resolution version of those images.

Similar images may be frequently shown in a row because images are not chosen but all of images obtained are posted. Users are able to search images by submersibles names, dive numbers or areas and see images obtained in a specific dive.
