Triton Group expands presence in Asia

Triton Group expands presence in AsiaAberdeen-based Triton Group is strengthening its business presence in the Asia Pacific region by expanding all of the Group's businesses into Singapore. Current Singapore subsidiary Cynergetic, a remotely operated vehicle support provider, will be joined by Perry Slingsby Systems, Sub-Atlantic, Dynamic Positioning Services, UK Project Support, Subco and Visualsoft.

The first stage of the expansion will begin operations on Jan.1, 2009. Bruce Lokay has been appointed as regional director, with Stuart Kendall and Frank Crighton supporting as regional managers.The expansion will launch with a combined rental and spare parts inventory of over US$3 million with plans to expand this capacity to over US$5 million in 2009. It will offer a range of specialized deepwater tooling systems and equipment for sale or rental from the Group companies, plus technical support and recruitment services for oil and gas customers.

Chief Operating Officer Dave Sturrock said, "The Asia-Pacific region presents considerable opportunities and is expected to enjoy further growth. Following the successful opening of our Houston operation, Singapore is the next phase in our growth strategy and we are excited in bringing our expertise to this significant marketplace."
