Naming ceremony of Viking Poseidon held in UlsteinvikThe naming of Viking Poseidon took place in Ulsteinvik today 14. November at 15 p.m. The vessel is an ULSTEIN SX121, a large subsea-construction vessel with ULSTEIN X-BOW design.

Viking Poseidon is the first of three vessels to be delivered by Ulstein to Eidesvik Offshore ASA. Viking Poseidon is 130 metres long and 25 metres wide with a deck area of approx 1500 m2. She will be fitted out for 106 persons and will amongst other things be equipped with a ROV garage, helideck and a diesel electric propulsion system.

Nathalie Pinon from the company Veolia Environnement (USA) is the ladysponsor of the vesssel. Eidesvik signed a long-term contract with Veolia for Viking Poseidon.

The ship will be a base for advanced ROV vehicles that will inspect and repair offshore installations in the Gulf of Mexico.
