The founder and Managing Director of Tritech, Richard Marsh, has decided to make way for a new Managing Director for the company. Tritech, which was acquired by Halma p.l.c. in November 2006, has won more business awards than any other Scottish company. Since its inception in 1990 it has become world leader in the provision of high technology subsea, acoustic, video and mechanical products.
With effect from Wednesday 1st October 2008, Simon Beswick, the current Finance Director, will become Managing Director. Simon Beswick, 44 has an engineering degree from Cambridge, an MBA from Oxford and many years of industrial experience.
Richard Marsh will become Vice-Chairman of The Tritech Group focusing on the development of new subsea products and acquisitions in the subsea sector.
Simon Beswick said: "It is a real privilege to take over the reigns at Tritech. I've been in the company for 15 months now and it is an exciting place to work, in a fascinating industry. I very much look forward to implementing our ambitious growth plans over the coming years."
Richard Marsh stated: "The company is growing very fast within Halma p.l.c. Being part of a plc requires different skill sets from those needed to start and build the company in its early years. I think it's important that founders of companies recognise when this transition is due, rather than years overdue. My talents will be far better utilised developing new products and finding new complementary companies to join our subsea technology group."
Headquartered in Aberdeen, Tritech employs 130 staff at three UK locations.
