DeepOcean is using GRL's DeepLive 2.0 real-time data input module for its new Inspection, Maintenance, and Repair (IMR) vessel, the Edda Fauna.
DeepLive 2.0 is a supplementary data input module for DeepView 2.0. DeepLive accepts National Marine Electronics Association (NMEA) data inputs to show the position, in a 3D visualization, of subsea objects like a vessel and its ROV, or a pipelay barge and its anchor lines. According to GRL, this allows real-time tracking of ROV maneuvers near a subsea structure, or monitoring touchdown during cable or pipeline deployment.
DeepLive 2.0's user interface makes it simple to operate in the field, using drag and drop technology to build up world models quickly and easily. With automatic data collection, display and saving, it allows multiple simultaneous views of the subsea world to be replayed at any time, the company says.
"DeepWorks can be deployed at the early prototyping, mission planning, operator training, and media generation stages or as in the case of DeepLive 2.0, for the live monitoring of real-world engineering and operational tasks," says Steve Tetlow, GRL's DeepWorks project engineer.
