Vertical line array deployed in Gulf of Oman SEA is pleased to announce that the Royal Navy's HMS Enterprise has successfully deployed SEA's vertical line array for seabed characterisation in the Gulf of Oman. This deployment is the culmination of 5 years' scientific research into the technique of using ambient noise to measure the acoustic properties of the seabed.

Commenting on this important landmark of the Rapid Environmental Assessment contract, Gareth Somerset, SEA's Offshore Division General Manager said: "Under the REA contract SEA has achieved a rapid pull-through of applied research into the operational community. This latest success represents a new and significant milestone in the provision of geo-acoustic data for the Royal Navy and potentially to the offshore survey community."
