Riise Underwater Engineering (RUE), in cooperation with Simon Møkster Shipping, has ordered a second Multi Maritime designed multi purpose offshore vessel according to naval architects Multi Maritime AS. The vessel will be built at Westcon in Ølen, Norway (new building 33).

The new design, "MM 73 MSV", is a 7.2 m lengthened version of the "MM 66 MSV" design, which Multi Maritime developed in close cooperation with RUE. The main focus in the design process has been to create cost effective and highly versatile DP-2 vessels. Their main areas of operation will be air/nitrox diving, ROV-operations and module handling.

Main features:

•  Actively heave compensated 60-tonne knuckle boom crane, optimally positioned mid- ships with a range over the port and starboard sides and stern of the vessel.
•  Module Handling System (MHS) Capable of handling subsea modules up to 30 t over port side, via a horisontal and vertical cursor arrangment with ship integrated overboarding cursor rail system.
•  Designed for operating two work ROVs, in addition to one observation ROV, simultaneously from the side hatches in the hangar.
•  Aft slipway for SPM hose maintenance and cable laying.
•  DP-2.
•  Accomodation for 70 persons.
•  Two large cargo holds below deck.
