DeepOcean ASA has announced the name of its new build vessel which is being built in partnership with Volstad Maritime.
The Cygnus, due to be launched in early 2009, will form part of the fleet operated by DeepOcean's subsidiary CTC Marine Projects. As a multi-role support vessel, it will complement CTC's comprehensive trenching asset base and incorporate cable, umbilical and flexible product lay capabilities.
This vessel is the second to be constructed by Volstad for CTC and follows the Volantis which is due for entry into operation in early 2008 as part of an advanced trenching spread.
Jake Tompkins, CTC's Business Development Director commented, ‘The addition of the Cygnus to our fleet will provide CTC's markets with additional capacity and enhanced operational capability.'
