Underwater technology manufacturer Sonavision has signed an agreement to supply its equipment to customers of California firm Deep Ocean Engineering's remotely operated vehicles.
Deep Ocean Engineering will offer customers a full suite of sensors in a deal expected to be worth between £300,000 and £500,000 to Aberdeen-based Sonavision over five years.
The initial ROV, sonar and sensor package was integrated and delivered by Deep Ocean this month.
Sonavision is a leader in the fields of seabed mapping, imaging sonar and acoustic communications and specialises in the design, development and production of acoustic sonar and video technologies for underwater data acquisition.
The company was formed in 2004 and has its headquarters at Bridge of Don in the Granite City.
Within the past 12 months it has doubled its development and production team to meet the rising demand for its products.
This latest agreement cements the recent expansion and may lead to further growth from a current team of 14.
Alasdair Murrie, Sonavision's international distribution manager, said: "This is an exciting joint venture with excellent potential and I look forward to a long and mutually beneficial relationship between the two companies."
