SBSS successfully completed the marine installation of Russia Sakhalin cable systemS. B. Submarine Systems (SBSS) and Global Marine Systems Limited (GMSL), have completed the cable installation project for TransTelecom, a leading backbone telecommunications operator in Russia. SBSS Cable Ship CS Fu Hai equipped with the Hi-plough and ROV Sea Lion has successfully completed the marine installation of Russia Sakhalin cable system on 30th June 2007.

The Russia Sakhalin cable system is 199km long repeaterless fiber optic link between landings at Sovetskaya Gavan in main land of Russia and Ilinskij on Sakhalin Island across the gulf of Tartary in Russia.

It is the 1st time that Fu Hai entered Russian territory water and installed a domestic Russian Telecommunications cable for the end client Russian TransTelecom Co. Ltd. Alexander Panin, Senior Vice-Director, TransTelecom said, "With an ever growing demand for telecom services between Russian and Asia, the Sakhalin Island network is an integral piece of our countrywide telecoms infrastructure. Global Marine and SBSS impressed us with their technology and industry expertise and we were delighted working with them."

It is an important project for one of Russia's biggest telecom operators and we hope to further develop our presence in what is a growing Russian telecoms market."
