Comanche is Sub-Atlantic’s true work-class electric ROV. Each system will be fitted with five and seven function Schilling manipulators, a 15KW hydraulic power unit for intervention tooling, and a fibre-optic survey pod enabling all potential survey sensors and optimal awareness with up to six cameras. The Bluestream systems will also include Sub-Atlantic’s Tether Management Systems (TMS).
Bluestream recently took delivery of if’s second Sub-Atlantic TMS for one of their existing ROVs to achieve longer excursions at greater depth.
Bluestream’s ROV business manager Michel Hebert commented; “Sub-Atlantic's Tether Management Systems (TMS) have shown reliability in the harsh environmental conditions in which Bluestream's projects take them. Our experience with the TMS systems is one of the main reasons why we have selected the Comanche,. We consider it to be the most capable vehicle on the market for the tasks we wish to carry out which are; survey, inspection and construction work.”
Sub-Atlantic has already supplied 6 systems this year with another 14 due for delivery to customers worldwide by the end of 2007.
“We are pleased to mark another important step in the provision of ROV systems to the international oil and gas industry.” commented Sub-Atlantic’s sales manager Ryan Lumsden, “Bluestream recognise our position as the leading force in the design of electric ROV systems; combining advanced technology with reliable simplicity. We are building on our success in 2006 and the whole team is looking forward to 2007 being another bumper year for Sub-Atlantic.”
