Hydroid, LLC, a leading manufacturer of Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (AUVs), announced today that it has officially opened the doors of its office in Southampton, England to support its sales and client service capabilities in Europe. Hydroid is now able to quickly and effectively support its existing European clientele, while offering a base of operations to attract new international customers.
Hydroid is opening its U.K.-based operations to more effectively satisfy the immediate demands of its diverse clients in markets outside of the U.S. The office, staffed by an expert team who bring over twenty years of experience in the marine and oceanographic fields, significantly broadens the company's worldwide presence and provides the industry's leading AUVs and support services to these markets.
"Since the announcement of a new office in March, Hydroid has continued to build on its considerable momentum in the international AUV market," said Christopher von Alt, president and founder of Hydroid. "This new office underscores our commitment to supporting and expanding our international client base, which has achieved great results with our REMUS technology."
The new office opening follows two significant contract wins with the U.S. Navy and the Department of Defense, in addition to several international wins with the Royal Australian Navy and Royal New Zealand Navy. Given its pace of sales for year-to-date 2007, Hydroid is on track to have a record-setting year, both in bookings and in the formation of new customer relationships. The new office will be managed by Graham Lester, director of business development.
