PARIS – Technip has begun a restructuring plan and has accelerated its cost reduction in response to the decrease in oil prices.

In its Autumn 2014 Statement, the government confirmed that it would introduce an immediate two percent reduction in the rate of the Supplementary Charge, a tax on profits from oil and gas production in the UK and UK Continental Shelf. The reduction from 32 percent to 30 percent came into effect from January 1, 2015. As a result of the 2015 Budget, this will now be further reduced to 20 percent.

Yngve Vassmyr comes with long experience in the oil and gas sector, in senior industry roles, and in building up organisations in the North of Norway. He worked for Statoil from 1985-2005, including as a Vice President for Global Exploration with responsibility for Norway and Western Europe and also as Operations Director for Snøhvit LNG facility during the preparation of the facilities and organisation for LNG production startup. More recently he was the CEO of Tromsø based Front Exploration, acquired by Dong Energy in 2012.
